YUNUSA TANKO |
The National conscience party, NCP, has called on Nigerians to join its folds ahead of 2015 election, saying it remains the platform that can bring good governance to the doorstep of the citizens.
NCP National chairman, Dr Yunusa Tanko, said this at a world press conference held at Gani Fawehinmi Freedom square, Ojota Lagos on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.
Tanko explained that the country system of government was not suitable for the masses, adding that NCP was the best Party for the country at this time.
"There is need for a change from the current decadence in Nigeria and NCP and its 10 care programmes is the answer! The NCP believes that good governance means being with people, knowing their pains, abolishing their poverty, and solving their problem, that is how to govern the people and that is what NCP wants to do for the people," Tanko said.
Tanko however called on estranged members of the party to come back to help the party win the 2015 election.
National general secretary, NCP, comrade Ayodele Akele noted that party was the only party in the country which doesn't demand for any fee from anyone who which to contest for presidency or any other position in the federal and state level, thereby making it easy for accountability.
"This party is the only party in Nigeria today that nomination of forms to contest for any elective position is totally free, all other political parties charges millions of naira to collect nomination forms, thereby making political aspiration an exclusive property of the rich and political parties business centres," comrade Ayodele said.
According to him, the party kick against deregistration of political party by INEC, stating the "we don't even know where professor Jega copy this system from, the major problem confronting Nigeria political party is providing level play ground for all parties.
