SOCIAL ADDICTION

As the country laments over her bad educational state, students have however turned deaf ears as they attach themselves with social medias, there by compounding the challenges revolving around the educational sector, as well as abusing this era of digitalization.

The struggle by the Government to organise the educational sector which has not been found faultless has been on for so long as some students abuse the use of social medias in this century. As the saying goes that "for every good thing, there is a disadvantage if not disadvantages". The emergence of social medias in this century has placed several questions on the lips of many, doubting if the social medias have been a blessing to this age.

 A huge bridge of confusion and pandemonium  have however aroused as a result of the bantered corses which cannot be compared to the blessings  attached to the impacts of social media on Nigerian youths and Education as a paramount, and an  inevitable sector in the country. 
As some students, teachers, not excluding lecturers make good use of the internet and other related social medias to get informed and updated, some students have also chosen the otherwise as death lingers due to the negative impact and Nemesis of the internet and social medias on youths in this century. 
The emergence of Internet-based social media has made it possible for one person to communicate with hundreds or even thousands of other people at the same time. The internet and social media have also made it possible for students to carry out various assignments online without much stress.
The internet, which  provides a constant source of information, and can be accessed from most smart phones, computers and laptops these days has gone far to "distort productivity as  the time spent online could be highly productive, addiction to internet usage can interfere with work, daily life and even " relationships".
Seeking opinion on the issue of social addiction as a problem, Oyedipe Philips, an online user aggrieved to the rate at which lives have being lost all due to social addiction.
“ our youths are too careless such that they don’t know when to use phone, some actually use phones on highways while trecking, not considering the implications”.

The use of the internet globally has become so addictive such that people can hardly do without it.
Meanwhile the positive effects cannot be overemphasized, as the use is becoming a problem as addicts report, such as the negative consequences from their uses.
The internet and social media have also gone a long way to improve students' approaches to assignments, school projects as well as their communication skills respectively. The modernisation of the internet into phone is not left behind as well, as it has " impacted" into so many youths by making them get addicted to the interne through their phones though it's addiction could be worse than drug addiction.

A recent survey revealed there are over 200,000 Nigerians already hooked on the smart phones now regarded as the most effective and efficient communication tool for business executives and also for staying connected to friends, relatives and associates on personal levels.
Anecdotal reports have also indicated that some on-line users were becoming addicted to the Internet in much the same way that others became addicted to drugs or alcohol, which resulted in academic, social, and occupational impairment.
In an exclusive interview with an online user, Ifeodun Bamidele asserts to the fact that there is nothing impossible for  him using his phone  and that he is addicted to his mobile phone as a result of the internet facilities attached to the phone.
As the internet affects people positively, so it does negatively as death tolls rises on a daily basis due to the uses of phones, charting with friends on roads and streets unconsciously while using the road which amounts to several accidents on highways and streets. Not excluding the rate at which cyber crime increases on a daily basis which cannot be compared to the past.  Meanwhile, research among sociologists, psychologists, or psychiatrists has not formally identified the addictive use of the Internet as a problematic behavior.
