Delta Unveils $229M Upgrade to LAX Terminal 5



As part of the efforts to promote convenient flights, the Delta Air Lines has on wednesday celebrated the completion of its three-year, $229 million terminal-wide refurbishment of Terminal 5 at Los Angeles International Airport. The carrier staged a ribbon-cutting for the opening of Delta ONE at LAX, the carrier's first premium check-in lounge with a dedicated curbside entrance, a high-design atmosphere, and a security checkpoint accessible directly from the lounge.

Delta Air Lines Awards $4 Billion Contract to Boeing 



Following the ratification of a tentative agreement from more than 12,000 Delta pilots, premium U.S. carrier Delta Air Lines Inc, has awarded The Boeing Company a $4 billion contract involving 60 single-aisle Boeing and Embraer aircraft.

36 buildings burnt as Diesel tanker rams into houses in Lagos



About 36 houses were burnt early this morning after a tanker loaded with Diesel lost break at Idimu bus stop in Lagos, rammed into some houses close to the bus stop and exploded. Fortunately no one was killed in the incident. This incident comes just four days after a fire incident caused by a petrol tanker happened in the Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos state. Senate approves life imprisonment for rape, 10 years for incest and Child Pornography



The Senate yesterday passed the Sexual Offences Bill which approves life imprisonment for gang rape, 10 years for incest, another 10 years imprisonment for child pornography and a fine of N2 million as well as 14 years jail term for any other form of sexual offences committed in Nigeria.

CBN Dismisses Officials Due to N8bn Fraud



The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says it has dismissed six officials, who were involved in the N8bn (about $47m) currency fraud in some of its branches.

Malaysia Airlines is technically bankrupt



Malaysia Airlines is "technically bankrupt", its chief executive has said, as he announced a restructuring programme and plans to cut about 6,000 jobs.
